Why Organizations Partner with Me

I’m a psychologist and executive coach and I have over a decade of assessment experience. Unlike assessment providers who simply deliver reports, I combine:

  • Doctoral training in psychology

  • Executive coaching expertise

  • Founder and CEO experience

  • Hogan certification

This combination allows me to interpret assessment results through both a psychological and business leadership lens. I go beyond explaining the scores and help organizations understand how assessment results translate into leadership effectiveness, executive development, succession planning, and talent decisions.

When Organizations Use Hogan Assessments

Organizations commonly use Hogan Assessments when they need to:

  • Accelerate the success of a newly promoted executive

  • Prepare a high-potential leader for greater responsibility

  • Bring greater objectivity to hiring or promotion

  • Prepare leaders for succession

  • Increase self-awareness among senior leadership

  • Improve leadership effectiveness during organizational change

What Hogan Measures

Hogan Assessments are among the world's most respected leadership assessments and are widely used by organizations to support executive selection and development. Whether you're investing in a single executive or an entire leadership team, Hogan Assessments provide objective insight into how leaders perform, where they may derail under pressure, and what motivates them to succeed.

The Hogan suite provides insight into these essential dimensions of leadership:

HPI - Personality and Strengths

How is a leader likely to perform on a day-to-day basis?

The Hogan Personality Inventory provides a reliable, objective portrait of a leader’s everyday personality, including their strengths, and shortcomings. Discover what type of leader they are, how other people tend to view them, how they approach work, and how they manage stress. The results will also tell you how well they’d perform in different types of roles and occupations.

HDS - Risks & Blind Spots

How do a leader’s strengths become liabilities under pressure?

Understand the dark side of a leader’s personality, the overused strengths that could derail their career, disrupt their relationships, and damage their reputation. We all have a dark side, and the more you know about a leader’s dark side, the more your organization can mitigate its effects. The Hogan Development Survey is a reliable, objective assessment of the behaviors that tend to emerge when a leader feels stressed, bored, complacent, or tired. These behaviors are usually effective in the short-term, but can have long-term negative consequences for their reputation and relationships. Understanding these overused strengths can be especially important if they have a demanding job, or if they’re moving into positions that require taking on greater responsibilities.

MVPI - Values and Motivation

What values and motivators influence a leader’s decisions and organizational fit?

Gain a deeper understanding about what a leader wants out of their life and career. The Hogan Motives, Values, Preferences Inventory is a reliable, objective assessment of a leader’s core values, motivators, and interests. The results will tell you what kind of organizational culture would be the best fit for them as well as what type of culture they’re likely to create as a leader. You’ll also discover the type of positions they would find the most satisfying and fulfilling.

360 Multi-Rater Feedback

What’s a leader’s reputation in their organization?

Discover how a leader is truly perceived by other people in your organization. The 360 assessment provides an honest, real-time snapshot of a leader’s attitude, behavior, and performance as seen by others. You’ll gain a deeper understanding of a leader’s strengths, growth areas, and leadership abilities. Through this assessment, leaders can also increase their level of self-awareness by seeing how their self-assessment compares with others’ feedback about them. Greater self-awareness can help enhance a leader’s effectiveness.

What Working Together Looks Like

Discovery

We’ll discuss your organization’s goals and the leader(s) involved to ensure that the assessment meets your organization’s needs. If you decide to move forward after this initial meeting, participants will complete the Hogan assessments securely online. The assessment results are often available within 1-2 business days.

Debrief

If the assessment is being used for leadership development, I will meet with the leader for a debrief session that involves an in-depth interpretation of the results. If the assessment is being used for selection or succession planning, HR will receive a debrief or summary of the results.

Development

Depending on your organization’s needs, I can help the leader translate the assessment insights into measurable leadership development goals. Organizations often choose to extend the engagement through executive coaching to help leaders apply their insights over time.
